The Slapton Community Support Group (CSG) and an army of parishioner volunteers are currently busy working hard to make sure all arrangements are in place to deliver a programme of Slapton Parish community events to celebrate The Queens Platinum Jubilee over the extended bank holiday weekend in June.
All parishioners and their families and friends are invited to come along and join in with the following events which are kindly sponsored by a community grant from The Slapton Parish Community Shop to mark this special occasion. Click here to print the Slapton Platinum Jubilee events programme.

Booking forms are being delivered by volunteers to households across the parish over the Easter Weekend. Spaces are limited and so please book your place by 5th May latest by posting your booking form into the letter box on the Village Hall railings.

Any profits from the sale of raffle tickets and catering will be donated to Devon Air Ambulance Trust and South West Ambulance Service (SWAST - First Responders). Official Charity donation buckets will be at all events so do bring along any spare loose change.
Commemorative Grants for the Parish
A Devon County Council Localities Grant has been received from Cllr Julian Brazil for a commemorative Platinum Jubilee community recycled plastic picnic table, made locally by supplier in Kingsbridge. The bench will be situated on the Village Recreation field with lovely views across the village centre and sea, for all to enjoy.
The Parish Council has made a grant to Devon Wildlife Trust for 2 crab apply trees. These have been planted at the recreation field to commemorative The Queens Platinum Jubilee and The Duke of Edinburgh and will be marked with a plaques The trees are also pollinators and will help to support biodiversity.
Finally I would like to say a very big thank you to the Community Support Group, Slapton Village Community Shop and all parish volunteers who have come forward to offer time, materials, skills and financial donations to make this a memorable and fun weekend for our community.
I do hope that you can all come along to support all, or some, of the events and to celebrate these with family and friends old and new.
