Commemorative Grants for the Parish

A Devon County Council Localities Grant has been received from Cllr Julian Brazil for a commemorative Platinum Jubilee community recycled plastic picnic table, made locally by supplier in Kingsbridge. The bench will be situated on the Village Recreation field with lovely views across the village centre and sea, for all to enjoy.

The Parish Council has made a grant to Devon Wildlife Trust for 2 crab apply trees. These have been planted at the recreation field to commemorative The Queens Platinum Jubilee and The Duke of Edinburgh and will be marked with a plaques  The trees are also pollinators and will help to support biodiversity.

Finally I would like to say a very big thank you to the Community Support Group, Slapton Village Community Shop and all parish volunteers who have come forward to offer time, materials, skills and financial donations to make this a memorable and fun weekend for our community.

I do hope that you can all come along to support all, or some, of the events and to celebrate these with family and friends old and new.

I look forward to seeing you there.
